The ARBS Education & Research Foundation was established in 2014 to provide scholarships and research grants for worthwhile programs. All grants are aimed at improving the capability of the HVAC & R industry.
Scholarships are awarded to individuals as well as groups to undertake courses of study that improve their skill base. Grants can be provided to industry associations and educational institutes to develop new courses which are of value to the industry. Finally, research grants are available to companies and people in educational institutes to look into contemporary industry issues. Research must have a positive focus.
Since its inception grants totalling $300,000 have been awarded through the 3 categories.
Funding is made available to the Foundation through the generosity of ARBS Exhibitions.
Over recent months the Foundation trustees have had under review the policy approach they take when considering applications that come before them. This review has led to the codification of a set of principles which are guiding their consideration.
From time to time the policy will be kept under review to ensure that it is meeting the contemporary needs of the industry and the laws under which the Foundation has a tax-free entity must operate.
