Refrigerant Leakage Study

16 Nov 2024

A refrigerant leak study, in part funded by the ARBS Foundation, was released at the Montreal Protocol meetings in Bangkok during October.  A copy of the report is available through the link below.  Discussion of the report was the key part of a side event at the meeting and was a hot topic of conversation among those in attendance.

The results show really 2 things.

  1. There remains a problem with refrigerant leaks and their impact on the environment, but
  2. Leak rates have come down markedly in air conditioning and mobile air conditioning.  While they have also reduced in commercial refrigeration sector.
