A refrigerant leak study, in part funded by the ARBS Foundation, was released at the Montreal Protocol meetings in Bangkok during October. A copy of the report is available through the link below. Discussion of the report was the key part of a side event at the meeting and was a hot topic of conversation among those in attendance.
The results show really 2 things.
- There remains a problem with refrigerant leaks and their impact on the environment, but
- Leak rates have come down markedly in air conditioning and mobile air conditioning. While they have also reduced in commercial refrigeration sector.
