The ARBS Education and Research Foundation is committed to supporting further education of people employed in the HVAC industry along with practical research into contemporary industry issues. The Foundation achieves these objectives by making financial grants and scholarships to individuals and organisations.
HVAC equipment in commercial buildings is a large consumer of electricity. Any steps taken which result in less power being consumed is a benefit to everyone.
The ARBS Foundation was very pleased to be able to partner with NABERS to provide sole traders with the opportunity to become accredited assessors in the Energy and Water for Offices discipline, David Eynon, ARBS Foundation Executive Officer said.
On this occasion, the financial assistance was provided only to sole traders. This cohort were chosen firstly, because through this initiative an increase in the number of assesses will result, and second, sole traders face difficult times in this COVID-19 environment.
David Eynon and said, “In this tranche of scholarships, 8 were offered. Under the terms of the scholarship, 80% of the course fees will be reimbursed. The scholarships were quickly taken up which demonstrates the training is highly valued. “
This was the first occasion on which the ARBS Foundation has awarded scholarships to individuals in this form. It has proven itself to be a good model that might well be a template for further scholarships in other areas.
